Sativa Boatman-Sloan has been part of the Foundation Board for over two years and has a passion for helping seniors! As the owner and an attorney at Law Office of Sativa Boatman-Sloan, LLC & 417 Elder Law, Sativa sees what seniors go through emotionally and financially. Knowing the Foundation assists the senior centers, which provide socialization and food, made her want to support their mission.
Sativa received her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Truman State University in 1993 and her J.D. degree from St. Louis University School of Law in 1996. Her law firm provides transaction legal services in the areas of real estate, business, estate planning, probate, and elder law. The mission at her law firm is to inspire, educate, and motivate clients to control their future by empowering them to make the best decisions for their businesses and their families, resulting in peace of mind.
Who was a senior who influenced you?
My grandmother, Mary Boatman, served people burgers and ice cream at my grandparents’ business while wearing heels and a skirt. That made an impression on me. You can still be stylish while working hard!
