“Fearless Aging is always staying curious and having fun. You are never too old act like a kid”
John may be new to the Foundation Board, but he has hit the ground running! John has spent his 20- year career in health care advocating for older adults. As owner of Haven Healthcare and 417 Home Care, he has witnessed a growing need for services and how lack of intervention puts many older adults at risk of serious illness, malnutrition and injury.
John wants to do whatever he can to support these wonderful senior centers and build awareness of their importance to the community. John strongly believes that senior centers are, in many cases, the first line of defense.
A true family man, when John is not working you will find him surrounded by his beautiful wife, Bethany, and four children.
Who was a senior who influenced you?
Mary Ray, my paternal grandmother, was a driving force in my character. She had raised three boys young boys in rural Kansas after my grandfather died at a young age. She worked in a factory at night and then cared for her ailing parents and three boys during the day. I have always compared my work ethic to hers. She also taught me to always do the right thing and everything will work out. There is not a day goes by I do not think of her.
