“Fearless Aging is powerful”
Janet Morris has been on the Foundation Board for almost a decade! Her background as a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator led to her interest in the Foundation.
Janet and her husband Lynn own the Family Pharmacy. An independent drugstore chain, they have 21 retail stores as well as Healthcare & Specialty pharmacy services. Family Pharmacy stores and staff are strong supporters of Senior community events!
Janet and Lynn are blessed to have their three children, Melissa Sanders, Justin Sanders, and Mandy Jones, managing different facets of the company. Janet loves spending time with her five beautiful granddaughters and one terrific grandson…and Waldo, a very spoiled bulldog.
In her down-time, Janet enjoys reading, being active in community events and traveling with husband Lynn to many destinations outside of the United States. They hope to continue to travel and have plans for a mission trip to Haiti with a church group.
Who was a senior who influenced you?
So many senior citizens have made a difference in my life! My grandparents, of course, on both sides were loving, hard-working people involved in my childhood. My parents and in-laws were also great influences and supporters. My first-grade teacher, Mrs. Martha James, was one of the kindest, most giving, and genuine people I have ever known. She exhibited patience, fairness, leadership, and spirituality – all qualities that made her students love her and want to be the best they could be in all things. I really loved all my clients when I worked in the nursing home industry – they had great stories and wisdom about life.
